| Although
the 2003 forest fires were devastating, no damage was done
to inner-city properties. The people of Kelowna showed their
incredible spirit by helping affected people during the fires
and by bouncing back quickly after the fires. The quality
of life in the Kelowna area remains as wonderful as ever. |
Kelowna
is situated in the incredibly beautiful Okanagan Valley
about 400 kilometers northeast of Vancouver (about 4-1/2
hours drive by automobile) and approximately 600 kilometers
west of Calgary (about 7-1/2 hour drive by automobile through
the Rocky Mountain range).
Kelowna
is rapidly becoming Canada's most attractive retirement
haven to active "baby boomers" because of the
countless activities available in the area. |
